Guess who's home???

Well, it has been two weeks since Matthew came...well two weeks tomorrow (Thursday) and we are all still very happy about that!

The morning of we all woke up around 7 since the ceremony wasn't until 11 that morning (I was VERY thankful for the 11am part since usually the welcome home ceremonies take place during the middle of the night!  We got VERY LUCKY!).  Anyways, it wasn't until 11 but when I woke up I called the hot line and they moved it to 9:45 (and you have to be there an hour ahead of time to get parking/seating so I had to leave no later then 8:45).  So I called Matt's dad frantically and he went on the website and confirmed the 9:45 part, yikes we had things to do!!!!

Scarlett had her mind set on having a tea party when daddy got home, it was very cute and she had it all planned out!

Here she is decorating her cake while I was running around like a crazy woman!
Zachary played happily in his highchair

Two very happy munchkins ready to pick up there daddy!
Putting the LAST paper chain on!!!
The fur babies and the human babies all set!
Checking on her tea party to make sure it was juuust right before we left.

After waiting an hour for the ceremony to start...I wasn't sure I'd be able to contain Scarlett for any longer since I kept hearing:
"When is this over I just want to go grab up that big ol' daddy since I miss him a lot"
When we finally found him/he found us we were all happy and happy to leave and get on with our day!

WELCOME HOME MATTHEW/DADDY!!!! WE MISSED YOU!!!! XOXOXOXO

Scarlett sayings

Just a couple of things Scarlett has said or talked about in the last few days.

-"Mommy, when are we going to take out all the dead trees and plant new ones with leaves?  That is going to take a long time because there sure are a lot of trees and they have grow bigger."

-I made cinnamon roll pancakes this weekend for Scarlett, Croix and I and Scarlett just finished up what was left over and says: "Mother, you make the best worlds pancakes!"....I get a kick out of when I'm called Mother.

-This one makes me sad but also happy at the same time.  As I was putting Scarlett to bed the other night she says "Mommy, I want a hug and kiss from my daddy because I miss him a lot.  I wish he didn't have to go to Afghanistan.  Does he have to go there again and again, I hope not because I miss my daddy a lot."

-"Sometimes the sun comes up to fast."

-The other morning I had to work on the computer while Zachary was taking a nap so I let Scarlett watch a show on TV called Super Why.  I guess one of the kids knew someone going to college and talked about it...I am a bad parent as I wasn't watching it with her so I really have no clue what they talked about it but this is what went down:  "Mommy, are you going to miss me when I go to college?" I say of course but then I look over and she has tears in her big brown eyes and trying so hard to hold them back.  Let's just say we talked about going to college verse not going to college and also community college options that are close to home as well.  She was much happier, just thought I wouldn't have this conversation with her yet!
      - later in the day: "Mommy, daddy works a lot, did you know some mommies work and some mommies like to stay home to be with their children and babies?  Well I am thinking I am going to go to the college close to MiMi's hospital then come home, do my homework, then eat a yummy dinner and you will stay home and yes that will be great oh yes!"

Scarlett: "Mommy, do people have more then one babies?"
Me: "yes, sometimes, it is up to them really."
Scarlett: "Mommy, I think your belly is ready for more babies, so the next day I want you to have three babies in your belly!"
Hmmm, I guess she is loving being a bis sister buuut one at a time little lady and NO by belly isn't ready yet!

Glow sticks in the bath

Glow sticks in the bath tub, need I say more? So much fun!

I was taking a picture of Zachary so she wanted one too of course, so here is her picture.  It was after her nap.
Zachary got this puppy from one of my aunts and he was only 2 months old, Scarlett has been really wanting to open it and play with it but I keep saying no since it is Zach's and I want him to have some new toys or just toys of his own!

Today I opened it and they both had a blast with it! There were wiggles and giggles all around :o)

She really wanted to teach him how to make it work, but he was too busy swinging his arms around.

Can we say puppy love?

Pea's Please? No Thank You!

Day two of trying peas and day two of him letting me know he is NOT a pea fan!!!!

The "Mom, are you seriously trying this green stuff again?" face.
"Ahhhh!!! It's in my mouth, it's in my moouth, she got some in my mouth!!!"
